Equipment and Boot Fitting

We will take appointments in September for boot fits in late October.

At Snowperformance we believe that to make you the best skier you can be, you should begin with a strong mobile stance which will allow you strong natural movements.

This starts with your boots, and we strive to set you up in a suitable boot to match your body type, skills, and goals.

Many skiers and riders hit a learning wall due to due to a poor equipment set up. A good set up can be the difference between, struggling to find movements and having a breakthrough in your skiing.

We can also help match you with a ski to suit your needs. In partnership with Sturtevant Sports in Bellevue, we offer several dates every October and November, for a personal fitting appointment.

We will take the time to make sure that not only are your boots going to be comfortable but that you can also make the movements you will need.

Boot fitting comes with a full alignment and footbed assessment. A 1.5-hour appointment is $120.

Foot beds and major boot work is extra. To book your personal appointment please call (253) 569-3713 or email gavalski@snowperformance.com.

SnowFit Training Course

Get ready for skiing and other sports by improving your fitness, your movements, and your alignment, so you can enhance your on-snow performance and efficiency as well as help protect you from injury.

We will take you to new levels of fitness and body awareness, and coach you in movements that will immediately transfer to your skiing.

The goal of this session is to see the connection between training and skiing; to get some physical work done to feel the connection between training and skiing; to walk away with a greater awareness and with some simple things that you can do to prepare for and improve your on-snow performance.

We will explore movements that will constantly engage your stance.

We will add power training. Dynamic sports demand the power to move your body and keep it able to resist and react to all the forces of the snow-sliding movements.

We’ll start the day with some training concepts and show you simple ways to add to your existing training or to create new kinds of training. With the use of  “toys,” as well as bodyweight exercises, we will explore balance, strength, and movement. There is no minimum requirement: Snow Fit is equally accessible to someone who is super fit or someone just looking to get more prepared for winter. No matter if you’ve have had an injury, and no matter what age you are, these ideas are applicable to you. Everything we will do in Snow Fit is based on the stance, movements, and movement concepts that we work with all winter, so you will be pre-loading your body and brain for any of our on-snow clinics this winter.

Some of the key concepts of Snow Fit:

Training and strengthening your functional stance quickly and easily.

Using that stance awareness in what you’re already doing.

How to train to add power to your moves while maintaining an excellent, engaged stance, whether by supplementing your current fitness training or by changing your movements.

Adding more agility to your movements.

How to think about your on-snow goals and train for them off snow.

How to think about your overall fitness goals and build a plan to accommodate what you want, both in general and for the winter season.

How to maximize your body’s strengths.

And, of course, how to have a huge amount of fun while creating a surprisingly easy path to better snow (and general fitness) performance!
